Traffic and transport: to reduce and restrict traffic

- Simplified access to the resort using special free trains from Lyon, Grenoble, Annemasse, via Chambéry and Annecy, thanks to a partnership with the SNCF (French National Railway) and the Rhône-Alpes Regional Council and free shuttle buses operating between Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Val d'Isère run by Savoy County Council.
- Improved management of vehicles with free parking on the outskirts of the resort, supplementary car parking created for the event and only a limited number of vehicles for Organising Committee use.
- A specific traffic plan for the World Championship period with the innermost zone of Val d'Isère being strictly pedestrian only and a modified traffic plan to let the venue breathe!
- Improved public transport within Val d'Isère with a network of electric buses complying with the very latest European standards in association with Irisbus and Transdev bus companies.
