The World Championships heirlooms
LThe commitment to the environment demonstrated by the entire team working for the organization of the Championships, will result in leaving in-situ a collection of achievements which will form a number of environmental heirlooms for future generations. To date the "basket" of heirlooms amounts to :
- Construction of a " HQE " sports centre
- Installation of specific shielding on trees lining the slopes (to protect them from damage caused by cable friction during slope grooming) *
- Addition of forested areas placed under forestry department management(4ha).*
- A sports centre fully integrated into the landscape*
- Valorisation of the Manchet hamlet*
- Cirse Observatory (protected species of plant)*
- Creation of a " parcours d'interprétation " (Manchet valley)*
- Landscape rehabilitation of the Manchet platforms*
- " Car-free Val d'Isère"
* measures implemented to compensate for certain impacts of essential development work carried out for the Organization of the 2009 Championships
